About Hankook

In the more than 70 years since it was founded in Seoul, Korea in 1941, Hankook Tyre has become a global force to be reckoned with. The first ever Korean tyre manufacturer, it continues to spearhead the growth of the Korean tyre industry and is recognised worldwide as a leader in technological innovation.

The company employs in excess of 14 000 employees, has four regional headquarters, 27 overseas subsidiaries, five research and development centres around the world and its products are sold in approximately 180 countries. More than 80% of its revenue is earned outside of Korea.

Hankook’s five large-scale manufacturing plants, in three countries, are responsible for tyre production, while a further two such plants are currently being built to meet demand that has yielded an average 13.9% annual sales growth over the past decade.

The racetrack is Hankook’s sixth and arguably most important R&D “centre.” It is here that new technology is put through its paces. Tolerances are tested and performance is measured under the most demanding driving conditions on Earth.

Through its extensive involvement in motorsport, the lessons learned on the track yesterday have become the tyre technology of today, just as the lessons learned today will become the technology of tomorrow.

This relentless drive to innovate, reinvent and perfect its tyre technology has earned the brand the respect of some of the world’s leading car manufacturers. Included among the marques that choose to fit Hankook tyres as original equipment (OE), are Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet, Ssangyong, Ford and Volkswagen.

no-compromise  approach to quality and emphasis on technological innovation means that Hankook tyres deliver superb performance, driving stability and ride comfort, on the road, off the road and on the racetrack.
